The Challenge

Openrad, a newly established tech medical devices company, was created following the acquisition of Biotronics and Visbion in the UK.

The company needed an experienced European HR partner to manage the TUPE transfer process for employees from both organizations, establish a new HR department, and ensure compliance across multiple European countries.

As the company continued to grow, Openrad also required support in expanding operations into Denmark, France, and the Netherlands, while maintaining compliance and consistent HR standards.

Later, due to financial constraints, Openrad faced the difficult task of downsizing and restructuring its European operations — a process that required legal precision, empathy, and seamless execution.

The Solution

Europe HR Solutions partnered closely with Openrad’s CFO and CEO to design, build, and manage the company’s entire HR framework from the ground up.

Our scope included:

• Managing the UK TUPE process for employees from Biotronics and Visbion.
• Establishing a new HR department, policies, and HR infrastructure.
• Overseeing the transfer of Medneo’s German employees to a new Openrad branch.
• Supporting recruitment and expansion into Denmark, France, and the Netherlands.
• Acting as Openrad’s compliance and HR expansion partner across Europe.
• Providing hands-on HR business partner (HRBP) support for daily operations, talent management, and compliance.
• Managing downsizing and exit procedures with fairness, accuracy, and full compliance when financial challenges arose.

After the wind-down of Openrad’s broader operations, Europe HR Solutions continued to support Biotronics, the remaining entity, ensuring ongoing HR continuity and stability.

The Results

• Successful TUPE transfer of UK employees from Biotronics and Visbion.
